Hydropackulicity is almost there

 

 
Hydropackulicity has been a wonderful challenge. It’s been a battle among the classmates and if there is anything that I got out of it, it is that SEO is very important for everyone who designs websites.

I actually learned so many things that I never knew of when it comes to optimizing our websites. Hydropackulicity has taught me that it’s not just what you do on page but what you do off page as well. I still believe that off page optimization such as backlinks still play a higher role than content but after the Penguin update two weeks ago, supposedly Google is trying to shut down sites who lack quality content.

There goes my brief insight on just a dab of what I have learned from doing Hydropackulicity.

Hydropackulicity Ending in Two Weeks

Hydropackulicity is an SEO (search engine optimization) contest that my instructor, Jeff Lin, created for his Web Production 2.0 students. The objective is to get your website to rank #1 on Google’s SERP (search engine results page). For example, when the keyword hydropackulicity is entered into Google’s search engine, all sites containing the keyword will appear. The thing is, these search results do not appear in a random order; this is when SEO comes into play.

As of this date, my site (the one you’re viewing right now), is in position two. Throughout this semester, I have not ranked number one yet.

This sounds absurd, but I have poured my heart and soul into this contest. I can care less about the prize (except for the extra credit points), but I won’t deny that it’s about the WIN I’m after. I have learned that with whatever I do, I have to be the best. If I don’t have the ambition to be the best, then it’s not worth me doing it at all. And if things don’t pan out my way, at least I can say that I gave it my all.

I know what the site needs in order to rank #1… but time is running out. It’s time for a last and final change.

Hydropackulicity—What is it?

Hydropackulicity is defined as: to simplify.
 
Since the beginning of mankind, humans have constantly looked for new ways to improve and simplify life. That meant doing research, experimenting, achieving, as well as failing. But, through hard work and dedication, technology continually advanced and so did life.
 
As one can see, hydropackulicity has provided a life of leisures to humans for quite some time. We don’t usually think about it though. Life, as of today, has gotten much easier. Things such as cars, guns, or a house, can be considered hydropackulicity because back then, walking, spear hunting, and living in huts was what our ancestors had to do.
